Moomba UNO OHL

Major delivery partner works for our client Downer to assist with the delivery of the Moomba to Tirrawarra 66kV Overhead transmission line in Gidgealpa, SA

Works included:

  • Installation of approximately 500 steel 2 piece monopoles

  • Stringing of approximately 100km’s of overhead conductor 66kV, 33kV, earth and OPGW conductors

  • Supply of plant and labour over and extended 6 month period, including 19 and 28m EWP’s, transmission linesman, tesmec operators, conductor tensioning equipment (chain blocks and comealongs), 100t hydraulic press and project supervisory consultation

  • Installation of 5 x 66/33kv switch yards, including earthing, ABS and recloser installation

Kaban OHL

Works included:

  • Construction of a 275kV interlink between the Kaban Wind farm substation site and QLD’s Powerlink switch yard, for connection to the transmission network of the Kaban wind farm in Tumoulin, Far North QLD

  • Supply of skilled and experienced Transmission linesman labour hire

  • Stringing, tensioning and connection of conductors

  • Resistance testing of compression sleeve deadends and palm lugs to ensure compliance after completion

  • Installation of 2 x 40m 3 piece monopoles, including ragbolt footing assemblies

Tamworth Rail - Westdale NSW

Relocation of Essential Energy owned overhead 66 and 11kV assets to allow for installation of Rail Intermode turntable infrastructure as a part of Tamworth Regional Council’s planned freight hub development 

Works included:

  • Installation of 4 x 24m 80kN steel 3 piece poles

  • Augmentation, termination, testing and commissioning of 550m x 96 core OPGW conductor 

  • Augmentation and relocation of 5 x spans of 66kV and 11kV conductors

  • Augmentation, termination, testing and commissioning of 2.7kms x ADSS overhead cabling strung on Essential Energy assets

GENEX - 275kV OHL

Major delivery partner for UAV (Unmaned Aerial Vehicle – Drone) company Infravision, to provide skilled and experienced transmission linesman labour, equipment and plant hire for successful completion of the largest synthetic draw wire installation for transmission powerline construction in Australia’s history.

Works Included:

  • Assistance with tower erection and assembly

  • Roller/Sheave block installations

  • Supply of rigging equipment, including pully blocks, sheaves, shackles, sling and chain jacks

  • Tower aerial (climbing) inspections/reviews prior to installation of draw wire

  • Aeriel catching of and rigging of synthetic draw wire utilising climbing techniques only

  • Tensioner/Puller equipment set up and operation (EPZ’s for Tesmec equipment)

  • Assistance with conductor stringing over approx. 25km’s to date

  • Provision of crane, rigging and dogman services across project forefront
